Here's How to Get a FREE Skylight

Here's How to Get a FREE Skylight

What if you could get a skylight, solar blind and a programmable remote control for LESS than the cost of the skylight alone?

Velux's Energy Performance Model packages let you do just that by taking advantage of a 30% federal tax credit off the total labor and material costs.

Example for replacing a C06 fixed skylight:*

  • $391 (List price, skylight and flashing) + $500 labor = $891
  • $766 (List price, skylight, flashing, solar blind and remote) + $500  labor = $1266
    $1266 - $380 tax credit = $886 FINAL COST
    You save $5

Example for installing a new C06 fixed skylight:*

  • $391 (List price, skylight and flashing) + $1,500 labor = $1,891
  • $766 (List price, skylight, flashing, solar blind and remote) + $1,500  labor = $2266
    $2266 - $680 tax credit = $1586 FINAL COST
    You pay $305 less

About 50% of skylights end up getting blinds, often as an aftermarket item that's more expensive and time consuming than factory-installed blinds.

Velux's solar blinds lower the U value of the skylight from .42 to .26. The programmable remote can automatically close the blinds at night during the winter and in the daytime during the summer to maximize energy efficiency.

As a tax credit, it's not limited by how much you've paid in taxes. But it may be affected by other factors. The credit will remain at 30% through 2019.

All the homeowner needs to do is file Form 5695 with their taxes and keep the invoice and Manufacturer's Certification statement with their records.
