Fall 2008 -- Erie Materials recently teamed with
Mahoney Design and Build for Extreme Makeover: Home Edition
project that aired in early November.
This home was for the Hill family of Geneva, NY. They had
been living in a deteriorating 200-year-old house. Tim, the father,
was using a dilapidated building for a gym to teach boxing to needy
children in the community at his own expense. The makeover
provided the family with a well-built and LEED gold-certified house
and a fully-furnished training center and boxing ring in the
backyard.
Dozens of local trades people and other suppliers, plus
hundreds of volunteer residents all pitched in to accomplish this
incredible undertaking. All labor and materials, from trusses to
safety goggles and asphalt to sandwiches, was 100%
donated.
Erie Materials, with the help of some
of our suppliers, donated CertainTeed
roofing, CertainTeed
siding, CorrectDeck
composite decking, Jeld-Wen
interior doors, HB&G
columns, Tyvek
housewrap and
DuPont Roofliner and related accessories.
