Homes for our Troops, a charity which builds specially adapted homes for severely injured veterans at no cost to the veterans, is completing a house in Central New York.
Erie Materials donated Mastic siding and CertainTeed roofing to the project for Sgt. Jeffrey Guerin of Marcellus, NY. An IED attack in Afghanistan, left Sgt. Guerin with broken legs, a blinded left eye and minimal vision in his right. The house he returned to wasnt handicapped accessible and wasnt able to find an affordable house that could accommodate his wheelchair.
Home for our Troops is still looking for donations for this house. For information, visit http://www.homesforourtroops.org/site/PageServer?pagename=SGT_Jeffrey_Guerin
Homes for Our Troops has already built 30 such homes for disabled vets, and has roughly another 30 in construction now, with 70 more in the planning stages.
